Happy Holidays! Today is a great day! It's all a matter of your perspective. Family caregivers are probably busy these days trying to do everything. But my advice is this...take a break! Rest! Allow other family members to help you get things done. Your own health is at stake!
Today on The Caregiving Doctor Show, we will have Karen Guice, Lead Ombudsman, for the Office of Senior Citizen Services here to discuss "How To Find A Good Nursing Home." Evelyn Shaw, her local team ombudsman will be present to speak about volunteering in a nursing facility. The show will air on WAGG Heaven 610 A.M. today, and WERC Talk Radio from 4-5 P.M. on Saturday, December 12, 2009. Callers are welcome to ask questions.
In Alabama, we have about 212 skilled nursing facilities. When you are searching for a nursing home, be sure to refer to the following website: Medicare.gov, and ADPH.org. Check on my resource page as well. Keep listening, and we all will keep growing!
